CEO of the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research, Canberra, reporting directly to the Minister for Foreign Affairs. With over 20 years of experience in sustainable agriculture, she founded and led the Centre for Global Food and Resources at the University of Adelaide (2013–2022). She served as President of Australia’s Policy Advisory Council for International Agricultural Research and Development (2020–2023). Prof. Umberger has held leadership roles with ICRISAT and is a Director of the International Association of Agricultural Economists. She is also a board member of Food Bank SA and an Honorary Fellow of Food Standards Australia New Zealand.
