She is the Founder and Chairperson of Hisaar Foundation, Pakistan, and co-founded the Panjwani-Hisaar Water Institute at NED University, Karachi. A Cambridge-educated geographer with 40 years of experience in water, gender equality, poverty alleviation, and climate change, she has worked across Pakistan and internationally. Ms. Kamal has served on numerous boards, including the Global Water Partnership’s Technical Committee and a leading microfinance bank in Pakistan. She is the author of over 450 publications and has received multiple national and international awards
